Jeff Kratz has a specific way of taking things in; the shapes, colors, patterns, and textures seen every day are broken down into simpler forms. Sometimes the oversimplification of one form dominates a piece, and other times multiple simplified forms share the same canvas. His work always alludes to something else which is not immediately seen.

 

Jeff creates artworks primarily with acrylic paint applied to canvas or paper. However, over time his work has evolved into three dimensional pieces which incorporate wood, sheets of clear acrylic, resin, aluminum, and assorted hardware, in addition to acrylic paint.

 

Jeff has artwork hanging around the world and has shown in galleries in the US and Japan.
